Embark on this bullet-hell journey to help Rhel fight against her inner demons!
Rhel's Tale is a small game jam me and my friends participated in after university for a bit of fun. We decided to go with an LGBT theme as we can all relate to it, and wanted to base it around the idea of 'coming out of the closet' - hence why in this game you are literally fighting a closet!
We used Unity (and C#) and made it in three days, where we implemented bullet patterns, boss AI, a full game loop, cutscenes, player attacks, animations and effects.
Overall I am happy with what we made, and I believe it does a good job of telling the short storyline that we wanted to base the game around as coming out can be a very difficult process.
This game ended up winning the 10:10 WIGJam against various other entries, which connected us to people within the industry!
